We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview As a Senior Product Manager on the Factory Systems team, you will be instrumental in certifying the world's first eVTOL aircraft and launching the world's first Urban Air Mobility service. You will help build manufacturing systems that will produce aircraft at never-before-seen scale while maintaining the precision and traceability required for aerospace certification.Factory Systems is the technological backbone of Joby's vertically integrated operations, encompassing the complex software and business systems that span engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations. This is a highly technical role requiring deep understanding of both software architecture and the intricate business processes that support revolutionary aircraft manufacturing.You will drive both strategic vision and tactical execution, owning end-to-end product delivery across interconnected systems. Your decisions will directly impact Joby's certification timeline and our ability to bring safe, reliable air taxis to market. Responsibilities Build and maintain product roadmaps that balance immediate operational needs with long-term strategic objectivesConduct deep-dive root cause analysis on systemic issues, developing comprehensive solutions that address underlying problemsOwn end-to-end product delivery for factory systems, from requirements gathering through implementation and post-launch optimizationDrive engineering execution velocity by identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and implementing solutions that accelerate development cyclesNavigate complex stakeholder relationships across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, IT, and external partners to drive decisions and align prioritiesManage competing priorities and resource constraints in a high-ambiguity environment, making data-driven decisions with incomplete informationCollaborate closely with engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure feasible implementation pathsDevelop and track key performance metrics to measure system effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives Required BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field5+ years of Product Management experience in technical environmentsProven track record of driving engineering execution in fast-paced, high-stakes environmentsExperience managing products with multiple technical dependencies and cross-system integrationsDemonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous situations with shifting requirements and evolving prioritiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting root cause analysis on complex technical issuesExceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to influence and align diverse teams without direct authorityTrack record of taking full ownership of outcomes and driving projects to successful completionExperience working with engineering teams on technical architecture decisions and implementation trade-offsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Desired Background in aviation or aerospace industryExperience with manufacturing processes and systems such as ERP, MES, PLM, or quality management platformsPrevious technical role in software development, engineering, or systems implementationExperience working in regulated industriesHistory working in startup or high-pace environments Additional Information Statistics show that under-represented groups, such as women and other minority groups, don’t apply to a job unless they meet 100% of the required qualifications. Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $133,800 - $203,000 per year salary.
