Freelance Writer, Food & Travel
GeistM is looking for a dynamic Food & Travel Freelance Writer to explore and document culinary delights and travel adventures. This role involves creating captivating content about recipes, reviews, travel tips, and guides to must-visit destinations, appealing to foodies and travel enthusiasts alike.
This role will focus on crafting high-quality affiliate articles, organic/SEO content, and sponsored content across our owned and operated websites, such as Journiest and Topdust.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce engaging articles for a range of food and travel topics relevant to our sites as assigned by the editorial team.
- Develop SEO-driven content to enhance organic search visibility and engagement across all owned sites.
- Create compelling affiliate and/or sponsored content that aligns seamlessly with both partner expectations and our brand voice as requested.
- Submit article pitches to the editorial team for review and approval.
- Use on-page SEO best practices when crafting your articles (e.g. formatting, interlinking, image sources).
- Ensure all content meets high-quality standards for accuracy, readability, and impact.
- Keep abreast of industry trends to continuously improve content and adapt strategies.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in content writing and a proven track record writing for food and travel.
- Strong SEO background with a track record of increasing search engine rankings and traffic.
- Ability to adapt writing style and tone to different target audiences and content formats.
- Excellent research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience writing for multiple industries and brand types.
- Ability to collaborate with remote teams and a strong communicator.
- Ability to meet weekly deadlines. Daily deadlines are a plus (for trending topics).
- Experience using Google Drive, especially Google Docs.
- Comfortable working with project management tools, such as Monday.com.
