YOUR MISSION
Game on! True Anomaly is developing a wargaming capability to evaluate system and architecture performance, develop and evaluate tactics and automated mission planning tools, and evaluate requirements trades in realistic operational scenarios. This role leverages your background in Astrodynamics and system modeling and simulation to develop Python-based models for various space systems including finite maneuvers, RPO, launch trajectories, onboard sensors & payloads, and other related capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to development of True Anomalyβs space systems wargame capability by developing and testing dynamic spacecraft and payload models, including related physics
- Integrating and testing Python-based models into an existing physics simulation
- Provide guidance to dedicated software engineers who build out high-performance capabilities in C++ or other compiled languages
- Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced work environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science (MS preferred) in engineering, physics, math, or a related technical discipline.
- Typically 3-5 years experience (2+ with advanced degree) applying modeling & simulation tools to answer challenging, open-ended questions related to the design, development, and operation of space systems
- Experience with astrodynamics and orbital mechanics modeling & simulation, including orbital perturbations, propagation techniques, and satellite maneuver planning including RPO
- Experience with dynamic physics simulations, including interaction between multiple vehicles/systems and environmental effects
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex and dynamic mission scenarios
- Willingness to develop new skills on the job as required to support a variety of efforts
- Experience with code configuration management tools such as github is highly desired
- Experience with system behavior modeling including Finite State Machines or Behavior Trees is a plus
- Must be proficient in Python programming language, experience with C++ is a plus
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $125,000 - $190,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
