Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in managing and delivering large-scale programs in one of the following areas: infrastructure systems, system design, and infrastructure operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in leveraging scope-cost-time-quality tradeoffs to help accomplish the goals of the program.
  • Knowledge of SQL, comfortable writing scripts and building dashboards.
  • Proven track record of technical program management outcomes from concept to launching programs.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you will be leading multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery, mobilizing cross functional teams, delivering solutions and ensuring that business critical decisions are being made based on rigorous analysis and data. You will be a problem solver by nature who connect strategy, execution, and establish process-oriented excellence in an organization. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end program outcomes, manage software engineering scoping, execution and delivery, and program and manage across large or various cross-organizational teams.
  • Communicate progress, and risks. Propose mitigation plans, and align stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage escalations and unblock obstacles, ensure all leadership/stakeholders are aware of progress/blockers on a continuous basis.
  • Use technical judgement to build consensus, drive projects, schedule, plans, execution, and communicate status to stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Analyze processes, identify opportunities for improvement, define requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally and globally to improve processes and tools.
