Minimum qualifications:

- 7 years of experience driving projects with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese fluently to engage with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or other advanced degree.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships and working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of News and News business and ecosystem (or comparable experience in another industry and keen interest in News).
- Understanding of emotional intelligence that enables close working relationships with key leaders both internally and externally.
- Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with partners.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.

As a Partner Manager on the Brazil News Partnerships team, you will be a forward-thinking partner responsible for addressing key opportunities and issues within the Brazilian news industry. You will manage and foster critical relationships with news partners and Key Opinion Formers, supporting agreements. A core component of this role involves driving an engagement strategy for publishers and news creators to build positive, long-term relationships.
In this role, you will be in close collaboration with LATAM and global program and product teams, as well as cross-functional colleagues in Public Policy, Marketing, and Communications, to drive and adapt our news strategy. You will be a creative problem-solver who grows up in a changing evolving environment and possesses a solution-oriented attitude. You will report to the Head of Brazil News Partnerships.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with a portfolio of news partners, news creators and key ecosystem stakeholders. Identify and prioritize partner goals, becoming an expert on their business models and priorities.
- Negotiate and manage the implementation of Google News products in close collaboration with Product and Marketing teams.
- Partner with Product and other cross-functional teams (e.g., Public Policy, Marketing, Communications) to manage and grow News product partnerships, align on regional strategy, and manage escalations.
- Serve as the primary liaison for partners regarding new product and feature launches, as well as distribution opportunities.
- Drive the Google News Initiative (GNI) strategy and execution within the region.
