Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience testing, launching software products, and building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++, Python, or Java programming languages.
  • 1 year of experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and automation testing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with building infrastructure for productivity for developers and engineers.
  • Experience in engineering productivity, developer tools, test automation, test automation framework.

As a part of the Google Home Engineering Excellence team, you will drive velocity, quality and excellence for the software stack that powers the helpful home. You will do this by building tooling, scalable test infrastructure and driving quality insights into the development process.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to solve technical problems that enable feature teams to ship quality code at high velocity.
  • Lead end-to-end scalable infrastructure that spans across device software, services, and apps.
  • Deliver infrastructure to enable hermetic testing, automate developer workflows, integration testing and CI/CD.
  • Set technical direction and priorities for adjacent engineers within and across teams.
  • Generate the ideas required to solve technical problems and take full ownership of the solution.
