Our museum client in Philadelphia is looking to hire a freelance Social Media Coordinator to support and collaborate with their Growth and Brand team, covering a maternity leave. This person will be helping to develop and implement digital content for their social media channels.
This is a hybrid position in Center City Philadelphia, with onsite days being Tuesday and Thursdays, with occasional Fridays or weekends for events or exhibitions. This is 20 hours per week through September.
The Social Media Coordinator Will Be
- supporting the development and execution of the Museums social media strategy across platforms, focusing on high-quality content creation that drives engagement and growth
- helping to create and post social media static content - scheduling through sprout social
- playing a key role in showcasing the Museums exhibitions, events, and collections, while ensuring a cohesive and vibrant brand presence online
- collaborating with the social media, growth and brand teams to to create and implement social media content strategies across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, etc.)
- developing original content, including photos, videos, and graphics, that align with the Museum's voice and goals
- assist in managing the Museums social media calendar through Sprout Social ensuring timely posts related to exhibitions, events, and museum initiatives
- monitoring trends and emerging platforms to innovate content approaches
- helping to track and analyze social media metrics to optimize content performance and audience engagement.
- engaging with the Museum's followers and respond to inquiries and comments in a timely manner
This Social Media Coordinator Will Have
- at least 2-3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in creating original content, including photography, videography, and graphic design for social media platforms
- strong understanding of various social media platforms, trends, and content best practices
- proficiency in content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
- excellent writing skills with an ability to create engaging, on-brand content
- familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social)
- ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- passion for art, culture, and storytelling is highly desirable
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
