Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in the C++ programming language.
  • 3 years of experience with full-stack development across the back end, such as Java, Python, GO or C++ codebases, and front-end experience, including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience designing and implementing multi-quarter projects.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects.
  • Knowledge of browser architecture, web standards and systems design.
  • Passion for working with cross-functional partners to create user experiences and solve problems.

This team owns the core infrastructure and features that help users manage tasks and collaborate, enhanced by foundational AI that simplifies workflows. The team delivers code and features on OSes supported by Chrome (e.g., Linux, Android) and is responsible for prototyping, building and shipping intelligent productivity experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • ​​Design, develop and launch new features in Chrome focused on user productivity, collaboration and organization.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers and other engineers to define and build the future of AI-powered browsing experiences.
  • Write clean, efficient and well-tested code in C++, TypeScript and Java, ensuring high performance and a positive user experience.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a collaborative team culture through code reviews, design discussions and knowledge sharing.
