Job Summary

This position supports the B-1 Systems Program Office, Engineering Branch, at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. The open position is for a Senior Engineer in support of the USAF B-1 Bomber. Additionally, the position is intended to provide recommendations and options for overarching weapon integration efforts to streamline and maximize efficiency and effectiveness for all modification programs. This is a 100% direct labor position that will require intermittent travel within the Continental US. 

Essential Job Functions

• 
  Manage the planning and execution of B-1 programs; provide systems integration recommendations to help ensure program requirements are achieved on time and within budget.


• 
  Develop requirements, system specifications, design margins, and management plans for B-1 upgrades.


• 
  Plan, monitor, measure, evaluate, and direct technical aspects of the B-1 Weapon System upgrades.


• 
  Provide requirements management, traceability, and version control for all managed programs.


• 
  Create and/or review technical drawings, technical orders, test plans, requirements, specifications, airworthiness packages, certification documents, and other technical data.


• 
  Support B-1 program tests, including lab, ground, and flight testing.


• 
  Provide validation and verification support for hardware, software, and technical documentation of B-1 program elements.

Qualifications

• 
  Master’s degree required from an accredited college/university in Aeronautical Engineering.


• 
  Five (5) years’ experience (or 3 years with a MS degree) in engineering support such as: Aeronautical Engineering, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration of Department of Defense (DoD) programs requirements.


• 
  Demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning, and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques.


• 
  Demonstrated independent decision-making abilities supporting maintenance and logistics engineering problems and methods; ability to coordinate multi-organizational projects.


• 
  Strong Organizational and Project Management skills.


• 
  Must have current Secret security clearance (or higher); eligibility for Top Secret.
