Optimal Biotech Group is looking for an Outside Sales Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will focus on driving sales and promoting process analytical technologies for upstream cell culture and fermentation in San Diego, CA. Single-use bioprocessing technologies, including single-use mixing, TFF, Single-Use Chromatography, Single-Use Depth Filtration, Virus Filtration, and Dual Bio Controllers. Additionally, you will promote Tornado Bruker Raman spectroscopy for inline glucose, metabolite, and amino acid measurements. Fixed Magnetic Gas spectrometry for upstream bioprocess. A background in cell culture or fermentation is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and cultivate relationships with both current and potential customers.
Provide comprehensive product demonstrations and assist clients in selecting the most suitable solutions for their needs.
Identify and develop new business opportunities within your designated territory or market segment.
Conduct phone and face-to-face meetings with both existing and prospective customers.
Research and qualify potential customers by understanding their specific needs and how our products can fulfill them.
Prepare well-structured proposals and quotations for prospective clients.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently to maintain satisfaction.
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical services, to coordinate sales activities.
Analyze the market potential and evaluate the value of existing and potential customers.
Conduct product comparisons and position our offerings against competitors to highlight key advantages.
Develop and execute a strategic sales approach, maximizing the return on time and effort within the territory.
Report on customer insights, market trends, competitive activities, and new product opportunities to management.
Stay up-to-date on product developments, industry trends, and competitive conditions.
Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industries, especially in manufacturing or service sectors.
Bachelorβs degree in Life Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong problem-solving capabilities with a consultative sales approach.
Results-driven with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary (Base salary + Commission): $110,000 - $120,000+
