Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working with technical teams on data center or mission-critical facility construction projects.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, mechanical systems, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with mission-critical equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
  • Experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems and fast-track design-build processes.
  • Understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
  • Excellent communication, people, and problem-solving skills.

As Google expands its operations, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Center Construction Program Manager to lead the design, construction, and delivery of data center in the region of North America.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple data center projects from inception to completion overseeing all phases, including concept development, design, construction, and deployment.
  • Gather and analyze internal requirements, translating them into effective solutions that meet the needs of our data center operations teams.
  • Work effectively within a matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional partners, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex construction challenges, developing creative solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
