Product Engineer (100% Remote)

You'll own the vision and execution of local AI products, from roadmap to release. Half your time goes into code, the other half into alignment: defining what to build, why it matters, and how to ship it well. You'll lead a pod of engineers across the stack, ensuring that the power of on-device AI translates into products people actually want to use.

This role is for builders who care deeply about the end result: making local, private, and powerful AI accessible through thoughtfully designed products.

Responsibilities

1. Aligning stakeholders on the product roadmap by building mockups and writing product requirements documents (PRD)
2. Contributing to the product's codebase (at least 50% of your time should be spent coding)
3. Managing a cross functional team (pod) made of middleware (JS), foundation (C++), QA and documentation engineers to produce high quality deliverables
4. Regularly assessing, both qualitatively and quantitatively, our position in the market with regards to similar products or platforms
5. Leveraging the expertise of the design, where needed, to ensure a high quality user/developer experience
6. Leveraging the expertise of technical architects to ensure robust architectural choices and code quality
7. Ensuring stable releases by following precise internal release processes

Job requirements

1. Has strong software development skills (preferably in Javascript/Typescript and/or C++)
2. He has extensive experience with React Native / Expo and cross platform development
3. Has a good understanding of how LLMs, transformer architecture and other AI building blocks work
4. Has built or has been a key technical contributor in one or more small to medium sized products (think 10k+ active users)
5. Has experience managing a small, specialized, cross functional team (pod) of 3-5 people
6. Has a genuine passion for building good products that improve people's lives
7. Knows how to use AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to write good code and iterate quickly.

Bonus points if:

1. You have experience with AWS, containerization platforms, orchestration, and automated testing suites (Maestro, Appium)
2. You have direct experience in building AI powered products
3. You understand the difficulties, nuances and importance of p2p technology
4. You share a cool project you built that aligns strongly with our vision for local AI (it's totally fine if you build it after reading this!)
