Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
- Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with managing scaled capacity augment/migration projects in a computer networking environment, including data center or colocation environments.
- Experience with network system design, network architecture and technology and network infrastructure.
- Experience with defining system or process requirements, building, integrating, or delivering large-scale layer 1, layer 2 or layer 3 network systems.
- Experience with forecasting, planning and design tools, workflow automation tooling and improvement.
- Understanding of the technical and process challenges associated with network planning and design.
- Excellent problem solving, cost-benefit analysis, and data analysis skills.

As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will be the initial point of our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors, all to position your team and organization for success.
You will facilitate faster, better, and more efficient, positive outcomes for the business and our customers. Your objective will be to build the world’s most reliable, cost-effective and scalable network to support all of our current and future customers and users globally.
In this role, you will plan and design Google's production global network. You will execute and build upon the goal of an optical, edge, core and campus network infrastructure. You will also ensure that the network is designed and built on-time while meeting reliability and policy requirements. You will help with developing network planning and design standard procedures, processes and tooling. You will work with software teams to contribute to the software automation roadmaps to improve the quality and reduce the cycle time for network planning and design.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Review and understand Google's network architecture standards. Produce plans and designs to meet all network infrastructure and capacity plans for Google’s global production network in line with established standards.
- Design solutions and create project plans that identify resource needs. Communicate with internal business partners to collect drivers and deadlines.
- Incorporate New Product Introduction (NPI) solutions into plans and designs. Ensure plan and design toolsets and business processes are ready for intaking NPIs.
- Contribute to the automation roadmap of team tasks, reducing cycle time and improving quality and consistency.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining practices and policies in network designs and plans, and establishing business practices that improve performance, reliability, and reduce risk.
