Our Financial Services client is looking for a Messaging, Integration & DevOps Specialist for a 6-12 month contract. This is a Hybrid role for the right candidate and likely start date is beginning March 2025. Role Background: The successful candidate will be working as part of the Messaging and Integration team, implementing and supporting the integration infrastructure. As well as production support, the candidate will be performing upgrades, installations, configuration and modifications of the Integration Infrastructure, specifically IBM Websphere MQ (WMQ), address software currency and vulnerability management and play a key role in various projects to help identify and implement the best possible Integration solution. A key requirement for this role is to perform a WMQ upgrade to the AWS platform so experience in both these software stack is mandatory.Key Technical competencies & experience: At least 7 years experience in an IT Infrastructure/DevOps technical role.Good knowledge of using cloud tenancies, such as AWS & GCP. Experience in configuring and customising GitLab DevOps piplelines using Terraform or similar technology to configure and maintain Cloud infrastructure.Good knowledge of the Windows Server and Redhat Linux Operating systems.Using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deploying solutions to Cloud environments.Experience with Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including Helm Charts.Experience using Confluent Cloud Kafka would be highly desireable.An excellent knowledge of technologies including Web Servers, Application Servers, Firewalls and LDAP Directory Servers.Understanding of Internet communication protocols such as HTTP, SSL and TCP/IP and certificate management.Knowledge and hands-on experience in IBMs WebSphere Application Server (WAS) would be highly desirable, but not essential. Key Non-technical capabilities: Highly motivated with a strong proactive attitude.Ability to design complex integration solutions.Exposure to production support and change management.Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with other teams.Good understanding of project management and Agile principles.
