
We are looking for an experienced Japanese-speaking Medical Software Development Engineer to help support a critical Maplesoft project in close collaboration with Cybernet. The Medical Software Development Engineer will take part in the research, design, and implementation of medical image analysis software and related systems. The position can be based anywhere within the UK.
Key Accountabilities:
Development of image processing algorithms for medical imaging (e.g., endoscopy)
Image preprocessing using OpenCV and related libraries
Implementation and application development of machine learning–based image recognition models (C++ / Python)
Software development and documentation in compliance with the European Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR)
Technical communication in Japanese with our development team in Japan

This position is based in the United Kingdom (Remote or hybrid work available)
Short-term business trips to Europe or Japan may be required.
Requirements (Essential):
Resident of the United Kingdom
Strong communication skills in both English and Japanese
Experience in medical software development
Understanding of the European Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR)
Experience with image processing libraries such as OpenCV
Development experience in C++ and Python
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with C#
Experience with medical device software certification (CE marking)
Practical experience in medical image processing
Experience developing and deploying machine learning–based image recognition models
Familiarity with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
Experience working in a bilingual (English/Japanese) development environment
