What You'll Do
Be an outstanding collaborator with colleagues in sales, product, engineering, finance/accounting, operations, corporate development, equity, and other areas
Draft and negotiate agreements with strategic customers, blockchain protocols, partners, and software providers
Develop and update agreements, website terms, and policies, and other scalable processes to help our teams to move faster
Counsel our product and engineering teams on new product launches and help translate regulations including sanctions, securities law, money transmission laws
Coordinate with our marketing team to review and develop scalable guidelines on promotional materials and contests
Support our corporate development efforts and oversee strategic acquisitions
Stay current with global regulatory frameworks, and support engagement with regulators & lawmakers, notice & comment letters, and review of draft legislation
Oversee corporate structuring, including domestic and international entity formation to meet business needs
Advise on global data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA, ensuring that the company's data handling practices comply with privacy regulations
Advise our People team on employee policies, and other employment law issues
Continue to build our patent and trademark portfolio, lead trademark enforcement efforts, and counsel engineering teams on open-source strategy
Advise our Alchemy Ventures team on investment documents (SAFEs, token warrants)
What We're Looking For:
3+ years of legal experience, preferably with a mix of BigLaw experience and in-house experience at a high-growth tech company
Strong track record of cross-functional partnership across teams (BD, Finance, Product, Engineering) to align on creative solutions
Passion for crypto, blockchain technologies, DeFi, DAOs, and/or NFTs
Collaborative team players with relentless optimism in the face of obstacles
Self-starters with a “pick-up-a-broom” mentality, able to identify problems and take ownership to improve them
JD from an accredited law school
Member of a U.S. state bar in good standing, preferably in California or New York
Nice-to-haves: familiarity with financial & securities regulations; Web3 experience; startup experience; experience founding a company or building side projects
