Web Tech Solutions
The Web Tech Solutions team is responsible for providing a solid software technology platform serving more than 100 public-facing websites of our company under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. These websites serve around 4 million individual visits per month, providing comprehensive data about our investment funds on more than 100 000 so-called product pages, enable roughly thousands of updates of web content and roughly 10 000 document uploads daily, as well as provide authentication for close to a million registered users globally.
As a Java Developer, you will be:
Implementing new Spring Boot microservices as part of a greenfield modernization project
Working on bugfixes, performance improvements and other enhancements in a Spring MVC environment
Testing your own code and taking full ownership – we build it, we run it, from unit tests to automated QA
Cooperating with partner teams across the globe to agree on API contracts and integrating our services
What You'll Need:
Minimum 5 years of experience in back end or full stack development
Confidence in using core Java (preferably version 17 or newer)
Working knowledge of build tools, preferably Maven
Solid understanding and adherence to REST standards
Strict adherence to clean coding concepts
Solid understanding and adherence to secure coding best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willing to work with global project teams spread across several time zones
Nice to have:
Experience with Spring or a similar IoC container framework
Experience with Spring Boot or a similar lightweight microservice framework (Micronaut, Quarkus)
Basic understanding of K8s and experience with public cloud providers is a plus
Working knowledge of at least one enterprise CMS system
Basic understanding of public web concepts (e.g. (SEO, CDNs)
Knowledge and interest in the financial services industry domain is a plus

Our hybrid work model
