Job Title: Graphic Designer

Location: Downtown Chicago

Job Type: Contract- Hybrid - 2 days per week

About the Role: We are seeking a highly conceptual and creative designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be adept at directing the creation of materials that align with the overall strategy and purpose of the communication, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong understanding of print processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative and innovative designs for collateral, marketing materials, product packaging, advertising, direct mail, and more, supporting key business strategies and reflecting the direction of the Creative Leader.

  • Take inspirational direction from the Art Director to produce simplified and targeted design solutions through excellent typography and layout skills.

  • Lead the creative aspects of projects, demonstrating strong business acumen and working under minimal supervision.

  • Uphold and maintain brand consistency across all projects, establishing and working within design guidelines, best practices, and standards.

  • Execute all design stages from sketches to final production hand-off, ensuring strategic concepts and visually interesting designs.

  • Conceptualize and design original ideas for branding, logo development, illustrations, infographics, etc.

  • Manage multiple design projects concurrently, shifting priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines.

  • Focus on fast-paced designs for print and event campaigns.

Strategy:

  • Support the Creative Leader's and Art Director's strategy by understanding the brand's communication and creative goals.

  • Stay up-to-date on best trends and practices to ensure effective creative activities and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with an emphasis on graphic design or a similar graphic arts-related degree.

  • 3+ years of experience at a design agency or a comparable employer (large, corporate environment) in a similar role.

  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of print production processes.

  • Execution and process-oriented, forward-thinking, diligent, and creative.
