Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Google Search Engine Software Engineer who is currently employed at Google and looking for additional contract work. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in search algorithms, ranking systems, indexing, and large-scale data processing. This role involves optimizing search performance, refining algorithms, and enhancing search experiences for various projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize search algorithms for improved relevance and performance.
• Enhance indexing, ranking, and retrieval mechanisms for large datasets.
• Provide insights into Google’s search architecture to refine search strategies.
• Work on projects requiring advanced knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and search infrastructure.
• Collaborate with a remote team to deliver high-impact search solutions.

Requirements:

• Current employment at Google as a Search Engineer (required).
• Expertise in search algorithms, ranking signals, indexing, and retrieval.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or Go with experience in large-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, AI, and NLP in search applications.
• Experience with distributed systems and big data technologies (e.g., MapReduce, BigQuery, TensorFlow).
• Ability to work independently on confidential projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in search personalization and relevance optimization.
• Familiarity with search quality metrics and A/B testing methodologies.
• Prior work on improving search UX/UI experiences.
