Global Regulatory Legal Lead

1. Serve as the principal legal lead for Binance’s global regulatory affairs, overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements and managing regulatory risks across all jurisdictions where Binance operates.
2. Develop, implement, and continuously refine Binance’s global regulatory legal strategy to ensure alignment with evolving international laws and regulatory frameworks.
3. Lead and manage the global regulatory legal team, providing strategic direction and fostering collaboration across regions to address regulatory challenges effectively.
4. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities worldwide, building and maintaining strong relationships to facilitate constructive dialogue and advance Binance’s regulatory interests.
5. Oversee the preparation, submission, and management of regulatory filings, licenses, permits, and approvals on a global scale.
6. Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of regulatory matters affecting Binance’s products, services, and business operations globally.
7. Monitor and interpret global regulatory developments, anticipate potential impacts on Binance’s business, and advise senior management on necessary compliance measures and strategic responses.
8. Coordinate and lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, audits, and enforcement actions, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
9. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including compliance, risk, business development, and product to embed regulatory considerations into business processes and product launches.
10. Drive the development and delivery of regulatory training and awareness programs for internal stakeholders to enhance regulatory compliance culture across the organization.
11. Manage external legal counsel and consultants as needed to support regulatory matters and complex legal issues.
12. Oversee the global regulatory legal team’s operational functions, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management.

Requirements

1. Qualified to practice law in a leading jurisdiction with significant international regulatory legal experience.
2. Minimum of 12-15 years’ experience in regulatory legal roles, preferably within the technology, financial services, or cryptocurrency sectors.
3. Proven expertise in managing complex regulatory compliance issues and engaging with regulatory authorities across multiple jurisdictions globally.
4. Strong knowledge of global financial products, including spot and derivatives trading, payment systems, and digital assets.
5. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute global regulatory strategies in a fast-evolving and highly regulated environment.
6. Experience leading and managing high-performing legal teams across multiple regions.
7. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with regulators, business leaders, and external counsel.
8. Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency industry and its regulatory landscape worldwide.
9. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
10. Strong business acumen combined with a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach to regulatory challenges.
11. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
