Engineering Manager (Infrastructure)

We’re hiring a Manager to lead the team responsible for the foundational infrastructure that enables pre-production quality across the company. This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, infrastructure engineering, and product quality, ensuring that our staging, and testing environments are robust, observable, and sustainably maintained. The team operates core pre-production services, builds observability tooling, and drives company-wide operational practices to ensure that pre-production environments provide reliable signal on product quality before release.

 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

1. Hire, grow, and mentor engineers to build a high-performing, collaborative team.
2. Provide clarity on goals, success metrics, and career progression.
3. Operate and scale critical pre-production infrastructure and services.
4. Define and implement observability standards for pre-production environments.
5. Deliver tooling that enables fast detection, diagnosis, and resolution of issues.
6. Lead recurring company-wide reviews of pre-production environment health and adoption.
7. Work closely with developer experience, product engineering, and infrastructure teams to align on quality goals.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

1. Proven experience managing infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
2. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
3. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range:

$211,650—$249,000 USD
