
he Funds & Wallets system powers the custody of digital assets, enabling many thousands of trading customers to make secure deposits as margin in our Trading Engine. Our systems are responsible for tracking deposits and withdrawals, and interacting with the blockchains of supported currencies and networks.
BitMEX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custody Engineering Lead to join our dynamic team. This individual will work closely with our Trading and Wallet Technology Engineers to enhance the security, efficiency, and scalability of our deposit, custody, and withdrawal systems.
The successful candidate will be a technical leader, driving the development and implementation of innovative solutions to safeguard our users' assets and expand our supported currency and network offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, and implementation of secure and efficient custody solutions for various cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks.
- Collaborate with the Head of Custody and Trading and Wallet Technology Engineers to define technical strategy and roadmap for custody, deposits, and withdrawals.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the integration of new cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks into our custody infrastructure.
- Optimize the efficiency and reliability of deposit and withdrawal processes, ensuring fast and seamless transactions.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to custody and wallet operations.
- Overseeing our build, test, integration and deployment systems, and in partnership with our Dev-ops engineers managing platform change.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology, cryptography, and digital asset security.
- Contribute to the overall design and evolution of BitMEX's platform.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role focused on cryptocurrency.
- Deep understanding of blockchain technologies, cryptographic principles, and digital asset security best practices.
- Proven experience designing and implementing secure and scalable custody solutions.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python.
- Exceptional leadership abilities combined with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong strategic thinking and execution skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good awareness of security threat/vulnerability report impact and mitigation
- Fluency in both written and verbal English.
