Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with Embedded Systems, Linux Drivers, C/C++.
  • Experience in the Java programming language.
  • Experience developing applications using Kotlin.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • Experience with Embedded Development, Android, Linux Driver, Bootloader.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern display or graphics software stack fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with C/C++, Python and Java.

Pixel software teams work closely with Pixel Hardware, Silicon, Android Platform, and external partner teams to bring the best of Android to users, on Google’s Pixel phones.

Within Pixel software, our Pixel display software team is responsible for all things display on Pixel phones, foldables, and tablets. Our responsibilities span across Google Tensor and display panels, from power and performance to color management and image enhancement.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive complete development cycles of new Pixel display projects, from requirements and design through implementation and establishing test plans.
  • Architect and implement features such as new UI experiences, color management and HDR rendering, image enhancement methods, and more.
  • Develop the team’s infrastructure by implementing new systems in areas such as telemetry, on-device diagnostics, and updatability.
  • Collaborate closely with Android platform teams on enabling new generations of Pixel: SurfaceFlinger, display and graphics HALs, WindowManager, etc.
  • Develop expertise in display technologies and SoCs, and productize them in future Pixel devices.
