Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., customer engineering, solutions architecture or consulting).
  • 10 years of experience in developing AI concepts, technologies and platforms, including machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jax and Kera) and AI infrastructure (GPUs and TPUs) in addition to programming frameworks like Python.
  • 5 years of experience leading and managing technical teams in a geographically-dispersed environment.
  • Experience working with digital natives and enterprise customers in addition to building relationships with stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its AI services (e.g., Vertex AI and Cloud AI Platform).
  • Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, multi-site technology teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver a polished and professional business and technical pitch to the C-suite and board levels.
  • Excellent business and commercial acumen and insights to validate and inform future opportunities.

About the job

As the APAC Director of Customer Engineering for AI Infrastructure, you will lead a high-performing team of executive customer engineers and field solution architects across the APAC region bringing expertise, experience and thought leadership. You will enable Google Cloud customers to leverage the value of Google AI technology and infrastructure (i.e., GPUs and TPUs). You will drive the adoption of this technology and infrastructure by supporting sales and working with customers and product management.

In this role, you and your team will work with customers to support their business transformation leveraging Google AI technology and infrastructure. You will develop and plan new initiatives and materials presenting value propositions to support them with a broad cross-functional group of stakeholders, including product, engineering, marketing, demand generation, field solution architects and sellers. You'll showcase thought leadership by identifying and parsing industry trends in AI technology and infrastructure in order to recommend, plan for and address core market opportunities.

In addition, you will help to ensure technical and commercial competitiveness and evolution of Google Cloud AI products and the related infrastructure offering in collaboration with product and engineering. You will be responsible for the overall strategy, execution and performance of the team, ensuring they provide exceptional technical expertise and guidance and setting key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurements for the level of contribution your team will provide to Google Cloud AI technology and infrastructure business in APAC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, develop and inspire a team of executive customer engineers and field solution architects, providing deep expertise on Google AI technology and infrastructure and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance.
  • Support Google Cloud sales teams to incubate, pilot and deploy Google Cloud’s leading AI offering and industry leading AI accelerators (i.e., TPU and GPU) at AI natives and innovators, large enterprises and early stage AI startups.
  • Help customers innovate faster with solutions using Google Cloud’s AI technology and AI infrastructure accelerators (i.e., GPU and TPU).
  • Align with multiple AI functions including product engineering, product infrastructure, cloud sales and demand management.
  • Facilitate C-level relationships with APAC AI and infrastructure customers, leveraging the understanding of AI market, industry trends and the narrative about Google AI and infrastructure.
