About the role

The DevOps Engineer (Duck Creek) is responsible for contributing to the build, improvement and promotion of DevOps capabilities and practices for the Duck Creek policy platform. This means improving our business agility, driving operational excellence and optimising our use of the platforms.

This role involves contributing to the Agile SDLC, leveraging expertise in DevOps, Continuous Integration, and deployment. You will also focus on systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing platform support.

What you'll do

• Assist in executing a pipeline of work that aligns to the team’s and the department roadmap


• Growing proficiency in project delivery using Agile and DevOps methodologies


• Prioritise Automation in delivery and embody a DevOps mindset within the team


• Provide input to estimates of resource effort requirements for workload planning activities


• Encourage automation and self-service of support activities for the team


• Track work via Jira, participate in Agile ceremonies

What you'll bring 

• 5+ years’ experience as DevOps / Systems / Software Engineer


• Previous experience with Duck Creek platform advantageous 


• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Ansible


• Familiarity with tools like Jira/Confluence, Bitbucket/Git, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, Dynatrace, and XSLT


• Knowledge of cloud engineering (Azure/AWS), including compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and scaling resources


• Proficient in Agile development and delivery methodologies
