Design Systems and Data Specialist

Summary

The Design Systems & Data Specialist will take responsibility for the development and support of all design software and custom solutions used in Engineered Systems Engineering Department. This may include integrations with 3rd party software used by the department. The position also provides support when needed for Technical Support elsewhere in the US region with users of design tools.

The Design Systems Specialist utilizes a strong design and engineering background in design tools and CAD Data in the manufacturing industry.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for implementing new features or enhancements for Design systems for the benefit of improved business process.
• Responsible for the management of all CADWorx Specifications and catalogs and the repository of CAD Data.
• Responsible for enhancements to the Bill of Material process between CAD, EDM and SAP and coordination of changes with IT and other Business SMEs.
• Responsible for researching and staying abreast of new developments in technology and determining suitability for use within Enerflex.
• Support to the process improvements through technology for Engineering, Design and Document Control Teams.
• Support the vision and roadmap for Design tools to enhance the systems used today by Design Teams.
• Support the hardware specification needs of the Design department.
• Assist the Engineering & Design Systems Manager to develop computer setup standards and responsibility matrix between this team and IT.
• Support development of integration tools for interacting with data sources between systems.

Position will report to the Engineering & Design Systems Manager and collaborate closely with the Design and Engineering teams at Enerflex.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

• Technical Degree or Diploma or equivalent required in Engineering, Design, Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ Engineering or Design experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years’ experience in maintenance of CADWorx Specifications and catalog
• Minimum 5 years AutoCAD or BricsCAD

Company Specific Application Experience or Knowledge Preferred:

• Autodesk Products-AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks
• CADWorx Plant and CADWorx PID Applications
• iMAGE tools for BOM Management-Edge, Edge BOM
• Knowledge of pipe, steel and vessel component materials
• Knowledge of Design in Compression, Gas Processing, Power Generation packages

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
