
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team.
As a Data Engineer, you will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure, data pipelines, modeling and governance frameworks. You’ll be responsible for designing end-to-end data workflows, and enforcing data quality and access controls. You will also run exploratory analyses, and work closely with software engineers and data practitioners to ensure data systems align with product and business requirements. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a robust, scalable, and cost-effective data platform
- Collaborate with software engineers and other data practitioners to design pipelines that support business intelligence and product decisions
- Design, automate, and optimize data pipelines and processes that power dashboards and reports
- Model and organize large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and quality checks to ensure reliable data flows
- Define and document a clear, consistent data taxonomy and governance framework
- Ensure data security, compliance, and appropriate access controls
- Create clear documentation and resources to support data self-service and onboarding
Requirements
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering
- Extensive knowledge of database query languages, database design, and internals knowledge of query planning
- Solid Python skills for data transformation, scripting, and automation. Ruby (on Rails) is a plus
- Production experience with data platforms and tools such as Airflow, DBT, Airbyte, and Looker
- Production experience with datastores such as Postgres and Snowflake (or similar)
- Experience working with cloud providers and systems, such as AWS and Kubernetes
- Experience with automation with CI/CD and other “as code” tools (terraform, helm)
- Experience building and operating production systems at scale
- Experience building strong working relations with both data / business teams and engineering teams (SRE, backend, …)
- Eager to learn and work in an environment with new technologies and paradigms
