JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Decision Support Services, this role works with the Technology teams and other key stakeholders to guide the development and implementation of plans, policies, and practices that control, protect and optimize the value and governance of data assets. This position is responsible for ensuring best practices in the overall design, development, testing and implementation of Think Together’s Master Data Management Framework. The Data Analyst plays a critical role executing against the mission to ensure that data is accurate, certified, reliable, easily accessible, secure, and stored within Think Together. This creates a strong foundation for analytics through data accuracy to harvest insights which drive sustainable growth and profit. This will be a hybrid role.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establishes and maintains departmental communications to understand business activities, drivers, requirements, solutions strategies, and alternatives.
• Works with system users to understand new requirements and propose solutions using base code or strategic modifications.
• Writes functional specifications for development requirements.
• Establishes and enforces Master Data Management and Data Governance policies to ensure data quality, compliance, and ethical usage.
• Ensures comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for all data management practices, including data governance, policies, procedures, and workflows, to maintain consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency across the organization.
• Develops and implements data literacy campaigns to support Master Data Management and data governance efforts across the organization.
• Ensures data is appropriately stored and archived, in line with relevant legislation.
• Implements data management practices for cloud-based services.
• Applies ethical principles when handling data.
• Develops innovative ways to manage data assets.
• In partnership with the IT leadership team, identifies data management opportunities and risks, including identification of alternatives and opportunities for innovation.
• Participates in highly complex or impactful efforts to ensure proper response and resolution to incidents, problems, and requests.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories to catalog and manage information about data assets, data definitions, lineage.
• Partners with stakeholders in response to project and service requests, researching and gathering details to determine desired functional requirements.
• Leverages industry standards and frameworks to guide reliability, scalability, security, and integration decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
• Detailed written, verbal, and collaborative skills.
• 1-3 years of experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and progressive experience in business intelligence data analysis/reporting. Including the experience in writing intermediate to advanced SQL (joining many tables, SQL functions, CTE's)
• 1-3 years of experience with data modeling, database design, data warehousing and ELT (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Synapse). This experience can run concurrent with the above.
• 1-3 years of experience collaborating with stakeholders establish business goals, metrics, and requirements and translating them into business analysis solutions.
• 1-3 years of experience in Data Governance or related roles (e.g. Senior Business Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Compliance Analyst, Data Steward)
• Demonstrated project experience designing and implementing data governance initiatives.
• Expertise of cloud services (e.g., Amazon, Microsoft, and Google) sufficient to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data governance in cloud infrastructure services.
• Must be able to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
• Prior experience in education or in the non-profit sector is highly preferred.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS:
• Must pass Live Scan (Criminal Background Check via fingerprinting).
• Provide and maintain a clear TB test throughout employment.
 

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary Range $70,000-$75,000

 This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
