Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience in people management, team lead, mentorship, or coaching.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently to interact with local clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a Pre-Business Manager or a People Manager in a technical customer-facing role within a professional services or Business Engineering team.
  • Experience with software lifecycle, building tools, and architecting and developing software for distributed systems including data platform, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and infrastructure.
  • Experience in managing a team through business processes, operations and career development including account mapping, quota setting, quarterly/annual performance management, and managing information.
  • Experience in engaging with, and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders including tailoring and delivering messages by audience, asking questions, and leading conversations that drive business opportunity.

As a Customer Engineering (CE) Manager, you will lead and deploy a team of subject matter experts responsible for working with customers to provide trusted technical and solution advice to accelerate workload migration and remove technical impediments.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Customer Engineers and build a growth culture. Focus on talent strategy and skills development to deliver cloud transformation outcomes for the customers and accelerate business goals for your territory.
  • Promote partnerships with customers across the book of business. Provide leadership related to cloud, transformation and related industry trends.
  • Partner with Google Cloud Business leadership to define technical go-to-market strategies and execution plans for the team's business.
  • Balance technical leadership with operational excellence; lead workload and opportunity review meetings and provide insight to achieve a technical agreement and migration strategy, working with the customers, partners, and prospects.
