Minimum qualifications:
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Qualified to practice law in Australia, New Zealand or another relevant jurisdiction.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in telecommunications law, including submarine cable capacity and infrastructure procurement.
- Experience advising on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters at a law firm, in-house, or government agency.
- Ability to be organized, responsive, and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Ability to work with flexibility on a broad range of legal matters.
- Excellent communication, people-management, teamwork and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with telecommunications laws and regulations in APAC and other jurisdictions worldwide.
- Obtain necessary regulatory authorizations for Google’s products, services, and infrastructure operations.
- Develop and maintain legal resources.
- Research, develop, and articulate Google’s positions on telecommunications and media issues pending at relevant regulatory bodies.
- Respond promptly, clearly, and accurately to a wide range of requests from product counsel, product managers, engineers, and other business clients.
