The Global Multimedia Engineering Team provides, maintains and supports all video conferencing, streaming, signage, event and audio-visual systems at BlackRock. With over 24,000 employees spread over 84 locations, the tools and support the team offers to employees and the offices help the firm communicate effectively between locations and is critical to the success of the firm.

Job Description

As the Associate Multimedia Engineer, you will play a key role in installing, supporting, and maintaining cutting-edge audio and video technologies globally for BlackRock. You will be a team player with demonstrated success in project management in an audio/video environment. The Associate Multimedia Engineer must have a solid foundation in Information Technology and AV/VC infrastructure, and a track record of implementing and deploying video conferencing solutions. You will be involved in the deployment and management of overall internal audio/video technology and in improving the quality of the existing and future video conference and streaming systems used globally at BlackRock. You will advance state-of-the-art AV/VC systems by improving the quality of existing video conference integrations, developing next-generation video conference integrated solutions with cutting-edge technologies, and engaging in various other activities in an effort to innovate and enhance reliability, functionality, and quality for BlackRock.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and deploy AV solutions across the regional offices
  • Manage Cisco Video Conference Endpoints in Cisco Control Hub and TMS, performing upgrades, Maintenance, and device Macro updates
  • Develop in-house tools for BAU operations and troubleshooting, including simple coding in Java, Python, and C++
  • Help lead the team with Special projects in Multimedia Engineering, and help test and develop new tools and features
  • Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of existing infrastructure (video, network, and computer hardware and software) as well as all interconnecting/interfacing hardware such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, video bridges, video gateways, etc., and tracking and closing tickets in ServiceNow
  • Drafting of technical support documentation, including operational instructions and manuals
  • Design, configure, and test custom audio-visual spaces, and understand all the tasks that are involved
  • Create training material, and train deployment program managers on best practices and commissioning of standard audio-visual spaces
  • Perform formal Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing handovers with third-party vendors, including management of punch list closeout through project opening
  • Be able to manage outside vendor resources, commissioning systems across the region

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-4 years’ experience with AV system design and system configuration
  • 2-4 years of experience in commissioning technical audio-visual systems
  • 2-4 years of experience managing multiple projects and functional units

Preferred Qualifications

  • CTS-I or CTS-D
  • Experience with Cisco AV technologies and all other AV technologies deployed by BlackRock
  • Experience with Cisco Control Hub and Cisco TMS
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Webex Endpoints
  • Network IP knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Excellent customer & executive management skills
  • Experience managing onsite engineering resources remotely
  • Experience with networking, switch configuration for AV and lighting network protocols, and current audio-video control technologies
  • Strong familiarity with AV, IT, and networking hardware and software concepts and their intersection
  • Excellence with data analysis and problem solving. Strong interest in AV/VC technology, open standards, and open source
  • Basic Coding Experience in Java, Python, and C++ for internal application development for team projects
  • Team Player able to work well with others.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$132,500.00 - USD$162,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
