As a company founded by a Veteran and staffed by many Veterans and families of Veterans, VBG is committed to advocating for policies that protect the rights and interests of former service members.What We Are Looking For: A strategic, user-centered Senior Product Manager will join the Veteran Benefits Guide's growing Product Delivery team. In this role, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of key internal-facing digital applications that serve our employees and business partners. You’ll partner with engineering, UX, operations, and business stakeholders to design innovative solutions that streamline workflows, enhance employee experience, and align with our broader IT and business goals. This role sits at the intersection of technology, user experience, and business operations. You will own the full product lifecycle, from discovery through launch and iteration, for high-impact internal tools and systems. Requirements Essential Functions: Product Strategy & PlanningDefine product strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational strategies and stakeholder needsTranslate business goals into clear problem statements, product initiatives, and success metricsPrioritize product features based on data, user input, and business valueProduct Development & DeliveryLead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, UX, QA, and support teamsOwn the product backlog: write epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in JIRA (or similar)Guide product through sprint planning, UAT, and deploymentPartner with DevOps and IT to ensure scalability, security, and platform alignmentHost knowledge transfer (KT) sessions with the Support Team to ensure smooth product handoffs and issue resolution readinessTroubleshoot reported bugs and production issues in collaboration with engineering and support stakeholdersStakeholder EngagementServe as a primary point of contact for stakeholders throughout the organizationConduct discovery sessions, requirement gathering, and regular demosManage communications around product updates, releases, and roadmap visibilityUser Experience & ResearchChampioning a user-first mindset using Design Thinking principlesPartner with UX designers to test concepts, review wireframes, and validate experiencesUse feedback loops (surveys, interviews, usage analytics) to iterate on product featuresProduct Analytics & OptimizationDefining and tracking key metrics to evaluate success and guide decisions (adoption, engagement, satisfaction)Leverage tools like Google Analytics, Splunk, and internal dashboards for insightsIdentify and address performance issues, gaps, and friction in user workflowsQualifications or Competencies:Proven success delivering complex digital products in cross-functional team environmentsDeep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and full product lifecycle managementStrong written and verbal communication skills; able to influence without formal authorityFamiliarity with tools such as Smartsheet, Confluence, JIRA, Figma, Google Analytics, Postman, Salesforce, NetSuite, and PaylocityDemonstrated ability to collaborate across business, design, engineering, and analytics teamsExperience working with platforms such as CRM, HRIS, LMS, or other employee-experience systemsTechnical fluency in APIs, data visualization, and system integrationsBackground in high-growth or enterprise IT environments preferredEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Human-Centered Design, or a related fieldEquivalent practical experience with a strong portfolio will be consideredAdvanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSIS) are a plusRelevant product management, Agile, or technical certifications preferredExperience: 5+ years of product management experience, ideally focused on internal tools or enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, HRIS, ERP, LMS, SaaS)Track record of end-to-end product lifecycle ownership—from discovery through delivery and iterationProven ability to operate in matrixed environments with engineering, UX, BI, and business stakeholdersStrong skills in setting and measuring product KPIs, prioritizing work, and maintaining a clear roadmapSupervisor Responsibilities: The Senior Product Manager is expected to provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance oversight, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.
