Senior Product Manager, Audio/Video SolutionsDescription -Job SummaryThis role is open to Houston, TX and Palo Alto, California in addition to Austin, Texas.Poly, a part of HP, is redefining how people connect and collaborate through industry‑leading voice, video, and collaboration devices. We are seeking a Sustaining Product Manager to own and evolve a portfolio of hardware and software products used by millions of enterprise and SMB customers worldwide.In this role, you will lead end‑to‑end product management for enterprise communication devices, combining hardware platforms, firmware/OS, software experiences, and cloud integrations. You will work cross‑functionally with engineering, UX, supply chain, quality, sales, marketing, and strategic partners to deliver products that meet customer needs, ecosystem requirements, and business goals.You will be critical to ensuring products already in market continue to meet customer expectations, quality standards, certification requirements, and business objectives throughout their lifecycle. You will act as the single point of product accountability, working cross‑functionally to manage quality, change impact, cost, compliance, and roadmap continuity.You will work with customer support teams, sales, and solutions architects to support customer escalations, but also to feed innovative ideas and improvements back into the product roadmaps.This is a hands‑on role for someone equally comfortable discussing hardware trade‑offs, software roadmaps, certification requirements, and customer value propositions.ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & Lifecycle ManagementOwn assigned products from General Availability (GA) through End‑of‑Sale and End‑of‑SupportServe as a prime source for sustaining changes, prioritization, and trade‑offsManage lifecycle transitions including updates, feature backports, refresh decisions, and retirementsProvide inward customer and channel feedback to the New Products team to complete the circle and prepare for the next generation of products.Ensure customer satisfaction will be a key responsibility, and you will work closely with the technical sales team to ensure our major customers and partners are supported.Support new product introductions to ensure that post launch activities such as transition and partner certifications are completed.Sustaining Engineering & QualityPartner with hardware, firmware, OS, and software teams to:Prioritize and drive resolution of field issues, defects, and customer escalationsBalance bug fixes, enhancements, and risk mitigationLead product perspective in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action planningEnsure product quality meets enterprise, security, and reliability standardsChange & Impact ManagementEvaluate and approve engineering change requests (ECRs) and sustaining updatesAssess downstream impact of changes on:Customers and deploymentsCertifications, compliance, and integrationsCost, supply continuity, and manufacturingDrive clear decision‑making when trade‑offs are required between schedule, cost, quality, and riskCost, Supply & Business HealthPartner with the teams in finance, operations, and supply chain to:Drive cost reductions and margin improvementsManage component changes, shortages, and risk mitigationMaintain product profitability targets without compromising customer experienceCross‑Functional CommunicationAct as the central communication point for product health and sustaining prioritiesProvide clear updates to leadership on risks, status, and recommended actionsSupport customer‑facing teams (sales, support, services) with accurate product guidanceEducation & Experience Recommended• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.• Typically has 5-7 years of work experience, preferably in hardware product management, digital or software product development, or a related field. Preferred QualificationsExperience with enterprise communications, collaboration, or connected devicesFamiliarity with voice, video, networking, or real‑time communicationsExperience working with cloud‑connected productsPrior experience with certification programs or enterprise compliance requirementsMBA or advanced technical degreeExperience working with external partners or platform ecosystemsAdvanced Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification, or any other related certifications.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.Areas of Knowledge & Skills:Agile MethodologyAutomationChange ManagementComputer ScienceContinuous Improvement ProcessCost OptimizationCategory ManagementContract MgmtDCR MgmtGo to Market PlanningHardware Product ManagementJIRAKanban PrinciplesNew Product DevelopmentNew Product Launch ReadinessOriginal Design Manufacturer (ODM/JDM) ExperiencePricingProcess ImprovementProduct ManagementProduct Lifecycle MgmtProject EngineeringProject ManagementProject PlanningProject SchedulesRisk ManagementSchedule ManagementSupply ChainSupply Chain OptimizationScrum (Software Development)Software DevelopmentSprint PlanningTactical Project PlanningCross Org Skills:Results OrientationLearning AgilityCustomer FocusStrong Financial AcumenStrong Communication Skills with cross functional teamsSelf Starter/MotivationStrong delivery background to ramp cross functional teamsImpact & Scope• Impacts function and leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.Complexity• Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.Disclaimer• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
