The OpportunityWe believe that a disruptive insurance company must have a principled quantitative framework at its foundation. At Root, we are committed to the rigorous development and effective deployment of modern statistical machine learning methods to problems in the insurance industry.At Root, the Quantitative Science team is responsible for the majority of all marketing capital allocation, using quantitative methods to test, maintain, and enhance our marketing strategies across numerous distribution channels. As a Senior Marketing Specialist on the Growth Data Science team, you will play a key role in expanding and diversifying Root’s direct marketing portfolio by developing and managing advertising and data partner relationships.Your primary responsibility will be to identify, engage, onboard, and manage relationships with new and existing affiliate partners, demand-side platforms (DSPs), and data vendors. Your success will be measured by the impact on business development—specifically, the incremental profit you help Root generate through new partnerships and improvements with existing partners. Developing and executing strategies to identify and engage partners, guiding them through contracting and onboarding, and enhancing capabilities with advertising and data partners will be key to your success.Salary Range:  $81,000  - $102,000 (Bonus & LTI Eligible)Root is a “work where it works best” company. This means we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US.How You Will Make an ImpactPlan and execute growth strategies by launching, managing, and optimizing advertising campaigns across marketing platforms to drive profitable growthBuild relationships with new marketing partners, aligning on engagement terms and contracts in close collaboration with Root’s Procurement teamIdentify common bottlenecks and develop proactive solutions to streamline Root’s partner contracting, onboarding, and engagementMonitor campaign performance, independently assessing results and quickly surfacing issues when outcomes do not meet expectationsCollaborate with Analytics and Engineering to define clear, well-scoped requirements and deliver dashboards, tooling, and integrationsCreate and maintain clear documentation capturing partner capabilities, campaign learnings, and project outcomesWhat You Will Need to Succeed3-5 years of experience in a growth marketing manager, marketing program manager, or paid media specialist roleExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven success in coordinating cross-functional projects across multiple internal teams and/or external partnersOwnership mentality: takes the initiative to identify, champion, and execute on the highest impact workFamiliarity with setting up and maintaining advertising campaigns on popular digital marketing platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Meta, The Trade Desk, MediaAlpha)Preferred but not required:Experience working with Procurement and potential partners to align on partnership terms and contractual languageProficiency in database management, SQL, business intelligence, and data visualizationInsurance or tech industry experienceAs part of Root's interview process, we kindly ask that all candidates be on camera for virtual interviews.
