What You'll DoAs a Senior Marketing Analytics Manager you will provide senior individual-contributor leadership to Avalara's Marketing organization by owning how marketing performance is measured, interpreted, and used to drive decisions. You will operate at the intersection of Marketing, RevOps, Sales, Finance, and Data, ensuring analytics frameworks are trusted, scalable, and decision-ready.You will lead through expertise and influence, not people management, and is accountable for clarity, consistency, and effect of marketing analytics across the business.This is a remote position reporting to the Director, Marketing Analytics#LI-Remote What Your Responsibilities Will BeAnalytics Leadership and Measurement StrategyLead the definition, evolution, and governance of marketing analytics frameworksEstablish clear standards for metrics, definitions, and sources of truthResolve conflicting interpretations of performance dataDomain Ownership You will own one or more major analytics domains, such as:Full-funnel and lifecycle measurementAttribution and ROI frameworksCampaign, channel, and program performanceGTM and pipeline analyticsExecutive and board-level marketing reporting(Multiple Leads may exist, each with distinct domain ownership.) Insights and Decision EnablementTranslate complex analyses into clear insightsLead deep dives, root cause analyses, and opportunity sizingInfluence prioritization, investment decisions, and GTM strategySupport senior leadership with decision-ready narratives, not just metricsPartnershipYou will partner with:Marketing leadershipRevOps and Sales OpsFinanceGlobal Analytics and Insights (GAI), Analytics Engineering, and BI teamsAlign our needs with data models, reporting, and delivery prioritiesRepresent Marketing Analytics in planning and review forumsAnalytics Governance and StandardsDefine expectations for analytics usage, interpretation, and reporting qualityEnsure analytics outputs are trusted and scalableGuide Analytics Engineers and BI partners on implementation prioritiesMentor senior analysts and managers through thought leadership and feedback What You'll Need to be Successful8–12+ years of experience in marketing analytics, growth analytics, or related fieldsOversee complex analytics domains with cross-functional impactExperience supporting senior and executive stakeholders in decision-making forumsUnderstanding of marketing and GTM measurement conceptsAnalytical problem-framing and structured thinking skillsConnect data to business strategy and outcomesSQL and data literacyExperience working with modern data stacks and BI tools Avalara is an AI-first CompanyAI is embedded in our workflows, decision-making, and products.  Success here requires embracing AI as an essential capability.You’ll bring experience using AI and AI-related technologies, ready to thrive here.You’ll apply AI every day to business challenges - improving efficiency, contributing solutions, and driving results for your team, our company, and our customers.You’ll grow with AI by staying curious about new trends and best practices, and by sharing what you learn so others can benefit too.
