POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst (βSFRAβ) role will work closely with the Corporate Finance leadership team to ensure that the finance function is a valued partner to Optaβs business and its leaders. The SFRA will be responsible for delivering consolidated financial information and critical business insights to senior management and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, this role incorporates a combination of financial analysis, business modelling, process/systems development, and project management to ensure that business and financial objectives are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting and Consolidations:
Β· Assist with the consolidation of all group subsidiaries and all activities to facilitate the timely and accurate production of financial statements
Β· Prepare and post corporate journal entries, including elimination entries, corporate cost allocations and fair value adjustments, as well as reconcile inter-company balances
Β· Maintain global FX rates used in consolidation
Β· Create and maintain templates used to upload to, or extract data from, Cognos (consolidation software)
Financial Reporting:
Β· Review and understand the monthly financial results of each group subsidiary and participate in monthly operations calls with business leaders when required
Β· Prepare consolidated monthly management reporting, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and financial KPIs, for senior leadership team and shareholders
Β· Assist in the preparation of annual financial statement and disclosure, in accordance with IFRS, including obtaining support schedules from group subsidiaries
Β· Assist with the year-end audit
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Β· Develop relationships with various stakeholders and partner with them to prepare budgets, forecasts and manage and track their performance against set goals
Β· Assist with the consolidation of budget and forecast information and prepare analysis and reporting to senior leadership team
Β· Assist with the development and maintenance of the companyβs multi-year strategic plan
Other:
Β· Provide value added leadership to advance the sophistication of the corporate reporting function such as effectively utilizing Cognos/EPM for consolidation; collaborate within the function to reduce the close period; establish achievable but ever improving timelines to gather and analyse financial data; build strong linkages between divisions and corporate when gathering and analysing financial information
Β· Assist in the implementation of new consolidation software (FCCS) and rollout to the field

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Specific performance and personal competencies:
Β· Articulate, straightforward, and succinct with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Β· Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Β· Well-rounded business acumen and experience in assessing operations and business processes
Β· Strong analytical, financial and systems skills
Β· Advanced knowledge of Excel is required and experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data analytics tools would be an asset
Β· Passion for producing results that have an impact
Β· Desire to advance in the organization
Education:
Β· Bachelorβs degree in Finance or related area
Β· CPA designation or CPA candidate (close to completion)
Experience:
Β· 2 to 3+ years of relevant work experience in financial reporting and/or financial planning and analysis
Β· Consolidations experience would be an asset
