We are seeking a Design System to join our MADI Design System team.This role is ideal for a mid-level designer with strong design system experience who is growing into a senior contributor, or a senior designer open to a hands-on, system-focused contract role. You will contribute to the evolution and adoption of our design system, working closely with product designers and front-end engineers to ensure high-quality, consistent, and accessible UI across platforms.What You’ll Do: Design Systems & UIContribute to the design and maintenance of design system foundations, components, and patternsDesign scalable UI components that support multiple products and use casesBuild and manage components, variants, and documentation in FigmaApply accessibility best practices (WCAG, ADA) to system componentsParticipate in audits and improvements to keep the system current and effectiveDesign-to-Code & Engineering CollaborationWork closely with front-end engineers to support design-to-code workflowsDesign with awareness of React component structures, responsive behavior, and system constraintsSupport component handoff and documentation to ensure consistent implementationCollaborate on refining component patterns based on engineering and product feedbackAI & Continuous ImprovementUse or experiment with AI-assisted tools to support design efficiency, consistency, or documentationStay informed on emerging design system, front-end, and AI practicesContribute ideas to improve how the design system scales and evolvesCollaboration & CommunicationPartner with product designers, product managers, and engineers across teamsClearly communicate design intent, guidelines, and system usageProvide thoughtful design feedback and support to system contributorsHelp teams understand how and when to use system components effectivelyWhat We’re Looking ForExperience: 3–6 years of experience in UI or product design for digital products1–2+ years of experience contributing to or working with a design systemExperience collaborating with front-end engineers on component-based UIExposure to enterprise, multi-product, or regulated environments is a plusTechnical & Design SkillsStrong proficiency in Figma, including components and shared librariesWorking knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principlesFamiliarity with React-based design systems and component-driven developmentUnderstanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA)Experience working in Agile or cross-functional product teams Professional SkillsComfortable working independently in a contract environmentStrong collaboration and communication skillsOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple prioritiesCurious mindset with interest in growing design system and technical skills Nice to Have: Experience with AI-assisted design tools or workflowsFamiliarity with CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience ManagerExperience in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries Additional Information: This is a contract role supporting enterprise-scale digital productsPortfolio demonstrating UI systems, components, or scalable design work is required Pay Transparency Salary Range: $90,000-$128,500 Overtime eligible: Exempt Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes Sales bonus eligible: No Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
