The Group: The Group: The Morningstar Direct & Data group is the home of Morningstar’s flagship product. We work to serve the needs of professional investors in the Wealth and Asset Management firms. Morningstar Direct connects the product, research, business intelligence, marketing, and wholesaling groups within these firms, and drives efficiency across their primary manufacturing, distribution, and marketing workflows by leveraging Morningstar’s data, research, analytics, and reporting capabilities.  The Role: Morningstar is looking for a Product Manager to define and lead the delivery of key strategic licensed data initiatives for the Direct & Data platform. You will act as both product expert and strategist to translate market trends, customer needs, competitive intelligence, and Morningstar intellectual property into innovative data deliverables that solve customer problems, and you will evangelize those offerings both internally and externally. The Product Manager will partner with our clients & prospects to incorporate the voice of the user and will work closely with development, design, marketing, sales, and support to decide on priorities for our roadmap creating a world-class experience for users.  The ideal candidate will have deep familiarity with Morningstar’s data and software offerings for various personas in the global asset and wealth management industry and the tools they use to manage their workflows. The candidate should also have a strong grasp of the current industry landscape, the ability to meaningfully contribute to go-to-market efforts, and a desire to drive deliveries with strong partnerships and alignment with internal teams within the Direct & Data family and across the organization. Position Location: Chicago, IL (we follow a hybrid policy requiring 4 days onsite) Responsibilities:  Be part of a global team to develop and deliver meaningful data and analytics to our customers. Own and drive the roadmap and development of key product capabilities while aligning with engineering, design, and client-facing teams to tackle new opportunities. Provide dedicated market requirements regarding data, analytics, and workflow needs to our data and software development teams for inclusion in product development. Engage in commercial activities including sales-enablement, pricing, data packaging, go-to-market planning, and product prioritization for Direct data sets in our core markets. Work directly with product marketing, sales, and service to define and communicate our data and platform value proposition. Through close coordination with Technology, Design, Product, Client Service and Operations teams, help ensure product, operational and customer service excellence. Demonstrate product capabilities to prospective clients, including functionality and methodology - serving as an expert for our internal stakeholders. Track and deliver against key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurements of product success (product revenue, product profitability, customer satisfaction, quality, cost implications, forecasts, etc.). Drive adoption of our newest product enhancements on the Morningstar Direct platform.  Qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science or related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of relevant and progressive experience in data and software product management and financial technology. Deep knowledge of Morningstar data, products, and the markets they serve is . Familiarity with product/project management tools, such as JIRA, Confluence and Asana.Strong technical acumen. Deep knowledge of Morningstar data storage and production systems is preferred.
