This role represents a significant step up in ownership and strategic impact, where you'll design feature improvements and new features while driving execution with engineering teams. You'll own multiple features or complex feature groups, working at the intersection of wealth management and software design to build products that make a meaningful impact for financial advisors and their clients.Responsibilities:Product Strategy & Roadmap:Develop and maintain a clear, strategically aligned agenda for the features you ownCreate and manage a shovel-ready backlog for engineering teams at least 2 sprints outMaintain a high-quality roadmap at least a quarter outWrite actionable user stories that drive meaningful product improvementsProduct Design, Development, & Execution:Write RFCs for feature enhancements and new featuresIndependently sketch first drafts of user experience designsSpecify platform components required to power new features, identifying where existing vs new platform capabilities are neededDecompose RFCs into actionable user stories, including work that may span multiple teamsTrack team capacity and proactively manage priorities 1-2 sprints in advanceRun at least two feature-sized projects in parallelProvide engineers with business context and serve as first line of defense against distractionsUse data and analytics tools to inform product decisionsDesign and execute comprehensive test plans for feature enhancementsStakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement:Build credibility with internal stakeholders by helping them solve for their full outcomesDemo all features in your area internally and, with advance notice, externallyDevelop working knowledge of players and developments in the wealth management space relevant to your product areaManage stakeholder expectations through regular updates and timeline alignmentMay own one or more internal stakeholder relationshipsLeadership & Communication:Lead feature planning and prioritization meetingsArticulate product requirements and decisions clearly to cross-functional teamsResolve minor team conflicts and maintain positive momentumAssess junior product candidates in interviewsDemonstrate cross-functional leadership, often persuading without formal authorityMentor junior PMs, provide feedback, and build team moraleKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate business requirements into actionable development workSolid understanding of software development principles, APIs, and system integrationsProven ability to work effectively with engineering, design, and QA teamsExperience with agile development methodologies and sprint planningStrong communication skills with ability to adapt messaging for different audiencesData-driven approach to decision-making using analytics and customer feedbackUnderstanding of wealth management, asset management, or fintech domainsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining qualityEducation & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field3-6 years of product management experience, preferably in fintech or financial servicesExperience writing technical requirements and working closely with engineering teamsTrack record of successfully shipping software products or featuresExperience with user research and data analysis to inform product decisionsWhy Join AssetMark?Own meaningful features that directly impact financial advisors and their clientsWork in a collaborative environment with experienced product and engineering leadersDevelop specialized expertise at the intersection of wealth management and technologyDrive product features from concept to launch with significant ownership and autonomyBe part of a mission-driven organization focused on empowering financial advisorsCompensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $100,000-$115,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
