You'll own product initiatives from research through launch and iteration, serving as the domain expert and cross-functional leader for payments and financial reconciliation.Why This Role MattersBuild the capabilities that unlock 2-5X growth in the Payments business and redefine the financial infrastructure for nonprofitsElevate the payments platform from a feature into a strategic competitive advantage that scales nonprofit impact and opens new marketsTake full accountability for payments strategy and execution, leading through influence and solving problems to build innovative capabilities that redefine nonprofit financial possibilities and create new revenue streamsKey ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDefine and own the long-term product vision and multi-year roadmap for Payments & Financials, connecting product investments directly to 2-5X business growth objectivesAnticipate and respond to financial, regulatory, and technological trends in payments and donor engagementPartner with executive leadership to inform portfolio-level prioritization and investment strategyDrive build/buy/partner decisions that balance speed-to-market with strategic controlOwn the product integration and relationship with the payment processing partnerIdentify new market opportunities where enhanced payment capabilities unlock revenue growthCross-Functional Influence & ExecutionServe as the payments domain expert and strategic advisor across engineering, design, finance, compliance, and GTM teams, ensuring alignment and raising organizational capability in payments strategyInfluence without authority, driving clarity and momentum on high-impact initiatives through collaboration and expertiseEnable Product Owners to execute within the payments and financials portfolio, offering strategic guidance and removing roadblocksOwn the outcome, not just the strategy, step in to unblock, clarify, or redirect when execution stallsMarket & Customer InsightLead strategic market analysis for payments and financial management in the nonprofit SaaS ecosystemTranslate customer insights, regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, compliance), and financial workflows into product directionIdentify capability gaps that prevent winning deals or entering new segmentsFinancial & Operational StrategyDefine and own performance metrics for the payments portfolio (such as % growth in payment processing revenue)Build business cases connecting product investments to growth outcomesIdentify and mitigate operational, financial, and compliance risksDrive alignment between technology investments and revenue/impact outcomesWhat You BringRequired Experience & Skills5+ years in Product Management within SaaS, fintech, Payfac, or payments platforms, with demonstrated impact on business growth tied to Payment ProcessingDeep payments expertise: payment processing, financial systems, and compliance frameworks (PCI, SOC 2, reconciliation, settlement)Proven track record of driving cross-functional strategic initiatives without direct management authority; you've influenced outcomes through expertise and relationships, not hierarchyStrong strategic thinking and analytical skills connecting data-driven decisions to business outcomesExcellent executive communication and cross-departmental collaborationTrack record of building new capabilities or entering new markets through product strategyPreferred ExperienceExperience in nonprofit SaaS, fundraising, or donor management technologyKnowledge of nonprofit financial workflows (fund accounting, restricted/unrestricted funds, audit requirements)Familiarity with accounting integrations (QuickBooks, Sage) and reporting platformsExperience building or scaling a payments business from early stage to significant scaleCharacteristicsExtreme ownership mindset: proactive, resourceful, and accountable, you identify what needs to happen and drive it to completion while ensuring alignment with leadership's strategic directionBalances strategic vision with operational execution, comfortable in the boardroom and the weedsCurious, analytical, and driven by outcomes over activityPassionate about leveraging technology for social good and nonprofit impactComfortable with ambiguity and capable of creating structure where none existsMeasures of SuccessDemonstrable contribution to 2-5X growth through new capabilities, market expansion, or customer value creationClear strategic roadmap aligned with business and market objectivesMeasurable improvements in domain KPIs (payment success rate, reconciliation accuracy, transaction volume)New market entry or capability launches that unlock revenue opportunitiesRecognition as internal and external thought leader in nonprofit financial technologyWhy Join Neon One?At Neon One, our values are how we show up every day.
