The Role


PETRONAS Canada is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Marketing team in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping commercial strategies, developing insights for NGL marketing opportunities across North America, and turn fundamental analysis into actionable point-of-views. Reporting to the Senior Liquids Marketing Representative, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining market pricing models, managing liquids logistics and applicable databases, producing reports, and preparing compelling presentation materials. This role requires a self-starter with strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.


How You Will Contribute


  • Provide day-to-day operational support by handling nominations and confirmations for operators, purchasers, and pipelines. Respond to customer and stakeholder queries, execute sales and purchases as required, and monitor unutilized commitments while ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
  • Monitor relevant marketing and transportation processes, track asset utilization/capacities, balance and schedule product flows, and ensure allocated production volumes agree with estimates. Work closely with field personnel and pipeline representatives to resolve imbalances and minimize financial exposure
  • Conduct market research and analyses to support Marketing and Transportation team activities and initiatives, including synthesizing and analyzing data on market fundamentals, pricing, production volumes, and pipeline positions. Validate results, prepare projections and estimates, communicate findings and generate reports as required
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to stay informed on production and operations activities and gather relevant information/data
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers, counterparties and external stakeholders to keep current on transportation and marketing developments and industry activity
  • Support the Marketing and Transportation team in preparing analyses and presentations for Partner and senior management reporting
  • Contribute to the 24 hour on-call support for NGL transportation issues, including occasional weekends and holidays

What You Bring


  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or equivalent post-secondary education
  • 3-5 years of industry related experience
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Experience using pipeline scheduling systems and/or energy trading risk management systems would be an asset
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of commodity markets in North America, with a focus on Canada
  • The ability to build and sustain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Possess an exceptional skill in creating slide decks tailored to different audience levels and delivering compelling presentations to showcase opportunities
  • Exceptional analytical, complex problem solving and decision-making skills
