The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in managing and optimizing paid search campaigns for Zaelab’s clients. This is a client-facing contractor role focused on driving measurable performance through Google Ads and Bing Ads while building strong, trusted client relationships.You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and translate campaign data into clear, strategic recommendations.Success in this role means taking ownership of accounts, thinking beyond the numbers, following through thoroughly, and proactively driving performance improvements in a delivery-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and optimize paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Bing AdsMonitor campaign performance, analyze trends, and implement data-driven optimizationsLead or support biweekly client meetings focused on performance reviews, insights, and optimization discussionsMaintain regular client communication, sharing updates, recommendations, and next stepsIdentify and proactively implement opportunities to improve account performanceAudit existing and legacy campaign structures and quickly identify areas for impactApply sound judgment around platform automation, including when to lean in and when to challenge default recommendationsCollaborate internally with cross-functional team members to align on priorities, delivery, and client needsManage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously with strong organization and attention to detailEnsure clear ownership and thorough follow-through on action items and recommendations 3–5 years of media buying experience, with at least 2 years focused on paid search campaignsHands-on experience managing Google Ads and Bing Ads campaignsExperience working in a client-facing, agency-style environmentProven track record of improving campaign performance with measurable resultsExperience managing existing or legacy paid marketing campaigns and identifying opportunities to quickly impact performanceComfortable implementing and managing conversion tracking for Google Ads and Bing AdsExperience scaling eCommerce brands through search marketingUnderstanding of customer segmentation and paid media attributionExperience with Google AnalyticsAbility to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyStrong communication skills, client presence, and strategic thinkingProactive mindset with strong ownership and thorough follow-throughProficiency with Google or Microsoft Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.) Why you’ll love working here: Unlimited Vacation/PTOFull Health Benefits and 401k Fixed Percentage Plan (USA only) RRSP (Canada)Fully remote and distributed teamsPaid Parental LeaveOngoing training and education opportunities0% Bureaucracy Culture - Focus is on responsibilities, not titleLike what you see but don’t meet every requirement?
