About PlanePlane’s mission is to build the infrastructure the world’s work runs on. We want teams to move faster without losing context, and organizations to retain the flexibility and control they need. Our team is building that work infrastructure as an open, adaptable platform for projects, knowledge, and requests—simple enough for any team to adopt and dependable enough for organizations to build on.Plane began in public on [GitHub](https://github.com/makeplane/plane) at the end of 2022. Since then, it has grown from an open-source project into a work management platform used by teams around the world. Organizations can use Plane as a managed Cloud service, run it on their own infrastructure, or deploy it inside fully isolated environments. Building in the open keeps us close to users and raises the standard for what we ship.We believe the future of work will be shaped by people and agents working together. That makes shared context, explicit state, durable history, and accountable action more important—not less. Plane exists to make that future useful, legible, and within the organization's control.Plane is backed by OSS Capital and built across San Francisco and Hyderabad. We work in small, collaborative teams, stay close to users, and care about both the visible product experience and the unglamorous details that make software dependable. People own problems end to end and add process only when it helps the work.We are still early. If you want to help define what work infrastructure becomes—and build software that teams can make their own and organizations can depend on—we'd like to hear from you. About the teamThe Marketing team at Plane owns two key outcomes:Self-serve (PLG) revenueQualified pipeline for Sales (PQLs / inbound conversions)We work closely with:Product Management (roadmaps, packaging inputs, releases, adoption)Product Design (product narratives, UX-led messaging, launch assets)Engineering (product telemetry, data access, shipping reality, constraints)Sales (mid-market + enterprise evaluation, objections, enablement)Community (open-source adoption, trust, credibility, distribution)Outbound at Plane is not spray-and-pray. It is a precision system, and this role builds it.About the roleThis is Plane's first dedicated GTM hire, and you will build the function from the ground up. You own the outbound engine end to end, building systems and AI agents that turn an ICP definition into qualified meetings on the calendar. You work fluently with LLM providers like Anthropic and OpenAI, wire them into your outbound stack, and build custom systems whenever off-the-shelf tools fall short. The craft here is cold outbound done well: strong data, real personalization, healthy email authority, and sequencing that earns replies. The audience is unforgiving. Plane sells to engineering, product, and IT teams, and to buyers with real compliance and self-hosting needs. These people delete generic outreach on sight. Your job is to make outbound specific enough, timed well enough, and relevant enough that a skeptical technical buyer replies.Tools you should knowThis role moves fast and assumes fluency across the modern outbound stack from day one. You should be experienced and comfortable with:Data and enrichment: Clay or an equivalent orchestration platformCold email and sequencing: multichannel cold email tools and LinkedIn outreach such as HeyReachEmail authority and deliverability: domains, warmup, rotation, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and sender reputationAI: LLM providers like Anthropic and OpenAI, and building agents or systems on top of themCRM: HubSpotRole and responsibilitiesOutbound systems and list buildingTurn ICP definitions into targeted account and contact listsSource, scrape, and structure prospecting data from multiple providersOwn the full path from raw list to live sequence, and keep it cleanSegment by fit, signal, and deployment motion (Cloud, Self-hosted, Air-gapped)Data and enrichmentBuild enrichment pipelines in Clay and similar tools that maximize coverage and minimize cost per recordUse AI to research accounts and generate qualification and personalization inputsIntegrate your data layer with the CRM and sequencing tools through native connectors and APIsGuard data quality: catch bad fits, dead emails, and duplicates before they reach a sequenceCold email and sequencingBuild multichannel cold email and LinkedIn sequences (email plus tools like HeyReach) that read as written by a humanEngineer personalization at scale using enrichment and signal, not mail-merge tokensRun structured experiments on copy, cadence, channel mix, and offerKeep volume and relevance in balance so reply rates hold as you scaleEmail authority and deliverabilityOwn sender reputation across every domain and inbox you runSet up and maintain domains, warmup, rotation, SPF, DKIM, and DMARCMonitor bounces, spam placement, and blocklists, and fix problems before they compoundProtect the primary domain by isolating cold sending infrastructureAI, agents, and systemsUse LLMs from Anthropic, OpenAI, and others to research accounts and personalize at scaleBuild agents and custom systems when off-the-shelf tools cannot do the jobHold a high relevance bar for a technical audience that punishes generic outreachTurn repetitive outbound work into systems that run without youSignal-based prospectingTurn Plane's signals into trigger-based plays: GitHub activity, Docker pulls, self-host installs, community engagement, funding, hiring, and tech-stack changesBuild sequences that fire when an account shows intent, not on a fixed calendarPrioritize accounts by likelihood to buy, not by list orderCRM sync and handoffKeep the CRM clean and in sync with your data and sequencing layersRoute positive replies to Sales with full context and no delayInstrument attribution from sequence to reply to meeting to pipelineMeasurementTrack reply rate, positive reply rate, meetings booked, pipeline created, and cost per meetingReport what works, for which segment, at what costKill what underperforms and scale what convertsYou will be successful if you...Book qualified meetings and pipeline from outbound, repeatably.Keep email authority and reply rates healthy as volume grows.Make personalization that gets replies from technical buyers, not spam complaints.Build outbound systems and agents that scale without quality dropping.Qualifications (must-haves)2 to 5 years running cold outbound or GTM engineering in B2B SaaS.Proven, hands-on experience with the tools listed above, used to ship real campaigns.Strong grasp of email authority and deliverability: domains, warmup, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and sender reputation.Comfort building with LLM providers like Anthropic and OpenAI, and wiring agents or systems into the stack.Comfort with data and light automation: SQL, no-code tools, APIs, and enough code to connect systems.A feel for what makes a message land: ICP, positioning, timing, and offer.Bonus pointsExperience with open-source, open-core, self-hosted, or developer-facing products.Outbound experience selling to engineering, product, or IT buyers.Signal-based or intent-based outbound at scale.Built AI agents in production, not just prompts in a playground.Depth in deliverability engineering across many domains and inboxes.
