Email Marketing Contractor (Independent Contractor Opportunity) Reports to: Digital Marketing ManagerLocation: Remote or In-Person within CanadaEngagement Type: Independent Contractor (Part-Time, ~2–3 days/week)How to Apply: Email Zoe Venter, Digital Marketing Manager at zventer@iconicwineries.com  Overview We are seeking an experienced Email Marketing Contractor to provide executional support to our Digital Marketing team on a part-time, contract basis (approx. 2–3 days per week). This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. This opportunity is suited for a self-directed professional who operates as a contractor or consultant and is comfortable managing their own schedule, tools, and invoicing. The contractor will support email marketing execution across a portfolio of 6+ BC winery brands—including Mission Hill, CedarCreek, Road 13, Liquidity, Martin’s Lane, CheckMate, and Red Barn—ensuring each brand’s unique voice and story is reflected in both design and copy. You bring a strong execution mindset, thrive in detail-oriented work, and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality marketing communications. Scope of Work & Deliverables This contractor will provide email marketing support across multiple brands and wine clubs, collaborating with internal stakeholders (brand, club, and estate teams). The focus is on execution, optimization, and operational excellence. Deliverables include, but are not limited to: Email Marketing Execution Build and deploy ad-hoc and recurring campaign emails across portfolio brands in ActiveCampaign Write and adapt email copy, including subject lines, preview text, body content, and calls-to-action Translate brand materials into effective email formats while maintaining brand voice Conduct thorough QA and testing prior to deployment Manage approval workflows and schedule deployments (minimum 48-hour approval lead time) Email Automations & Journeys Maintain and update existing automated journeys (e.g., Welcome, Member Welcome, Waitlist, Re-engagement) Support quarterly updates, including copy refresh, seasonal changes, logic review, and recommendations Assist with building new journeys based on predefined requirements List Management & Data Hygiene Create and maintain audience segments Manage list cleanup, including bounce handling and suppression logic Monitor deliverability and flag any issues Support execution of sunset and engagement policies (in partnership with Digital Marketing Manager) Ensure compliance elements (unsubscribe links, privacy policy links) are current Reporting & Optimization Provide support with campaign reporting and performance insights as requested Contractor Requirements Proven experience as an independent contractor, freelancer, or consultant (preferred) 2–5 years of hands-on experience in email marketing Strong experience with CRM platforms (ActiveCampaign preferred; similar tools acceptable) Demonstrated ability to segment audiences and manage lifecycle marketing initiatives Excellent written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone across multiple brands Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to manage deadlines independently and deliver work with minimal supervision Post-secondary education in marketing or equivalent practical experience Assets Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email Adobe Creative Suite experience Experience in wine, hospitality, or luxury consumer goods Contract Details This is an independent contractor agreement, not an employment relationship Contractor is responsible for their own invoicing Engagement is expected to average 2–3 days per week, with flexibility based on business needs Must be legally able to work as an independent contractor in Canada
