At CCS, you will join a diverse team of smart, passionate, and resourceful professionals who are driven by purpose and committed to performance.UNDERSTANDING THE ROLEWe are seeking a Content Director to lead the development and execution of content used across the global nonprofit industry and support internal teams with shared content tools and resources. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Content Strategy, you will work directly with raw data, research, and field insights to turn complex information into compelling narratives to be used across reports, articles, webinars, and publications, build and optimize client case studies, and produce content that equips internal teams (regional teams, executives, and client-facing colleagues) with the tools they need to communicate effectively. This role requires a strong analytical and storytelling mindset, the ability to manage multiple projects, and demonstrated skill in analyzing complex datasets to transform them into compelling narratives.RESPONSIBILITIESContent Development & Narrative ExecutionDevelop and produce content for external audiences (marquee reports, narrative articles, case studies, webinar materials, publications) and internal stakeholders (guides, sector viewbooks, “how-to” resources, and other internal-facing content)Work directly with raw datasets, conduct research, and gather field insights to uncover trends and craft compelling narratives for external content, including flagship research reports and case studiesRefine and optimize client case study strategy to maximize impact and alignment with organizational goalsEnsure all content reflects CCS’s brand voice, messaging standards, and audience needsProject & Resource CoordinationSupport day-to-day content operations, including coordinating workflows, calendar scheduling, and internal content request intake, in service of executing the team’s content strategyCoordinate internal resources and personnel to support content creation, including subject matter experts, field marketing experts, designers, and video teamsMaintain alignment across projects and ensure content meets the needs of internal stakeholders and external audiencesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with subject matter experts, regional teams, and internal departments (Design, Video, Field Marketing, Events, regional teams, and executives) to source content and validate insightsWork directly with senior leaders and executives with professionalism and confidence as a trusted content partner by gathering insights and reviewing feedback from multiple stakeholders to help shape polished, compelling narratives Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure content supports organizational priorities and audience needsTailor content for diverse internal audiences and ensure clarity, relevance, and engagementData-Driven Storytelling & OptimizationAnalyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover trends and inform content developmentApply insights from research, raw data, and field inputs to improve content relevance, usability, and impact Apply SEO principles and content performance metrics to improve accessibility and reachStay informed of trends in fundraising and nonprofit communications to guide content executionQUALIFICATIONS At least 6 years of experience in content creation, storytelling, or communications, preferably in marketing or nonprofit industryDemonstrated experience translating complex, unstructured data into clear, engaging content for external audiencesExperience developing case studies, flagship research publications, and internal resourcesExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formatsProven ability to work directly with senior leaders or executives with professionalism and confidence, facilitating discussions, providing guidance, and incorporating feedbackA collaborative working style, with the ability to partner effectively across departments and levelsFamiliarity with content management systems, analytics tools, SEO, project management tools (like Monday,) and audience researchProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookCCS offers competitive benefits, a dynamic training program, resources, career advancement, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
