WeVote is a movement of over 100 passionate volunteers (starting with the founders) who are building open-source mobile technologies that touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. We observe that many voters are busy, distracted, and impatient. The Role of the Chief Marketing Officer Working with the Marketing team, including our Chief of Staff, to develop and own our marketing strategyDrive our marketing and communications teamsDrive our press strategy and outreachWork with our team to create the marketing materials we use to explain our product offeringWhat You'll AccomplishSet marketing goals and objectivesPlan, implement and manage marketing strategy parallel to organization’s strategy Contribute to the overall growth of the organization Review and manage content marketing strategyReview and manage social media strategy Own WeVote branding Own internal communication with volunteersOwn external newsletter to users and supporters Determine KPIs for the marketing department and track against them Keep track of the marketing budgetTrack KPIs on a regular basis and present resultsWork with business development, product and other teamsCreate and present the annual marketing plan and strategyUse data and reports to make evidence-based decisionsStay up to date with the latest technology and best practices Work with the team to design, plan and execute effective marketing campaignsYour BackgroundWe're looking for someone who brings:10+ years experience in marketingCustomer/user centric mindset Hands-on experience with CRM and SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, HubSpot, WebTrends, SalesForce, etc.Management of teams of 60 employees or more Excellent organizational and time management skillsGood communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent presentation skillsBA in Marketing, or similar field Additional marketing certifications are a plusAvailability: At least 10 hours each week during our core team hours M-F 9 a.m. - 6 p.m PST with the ability to work 1-2 hours during Pacific Time overlap. Must be available to attend the Marketing team meetings and leadership meetings.
